The new term president of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) was determined through the election carried out at the 8th Annual General Assembly Meeting held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the participation of fifty countries. The winner of the three-candidate election was Dr. Natalia Ciobanu from Moldova.
The 6th Global Healthcare Travel Forum and Conference was hosted by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the 2024-2026 term president who will preside the 56 membercountries of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) was determined at the 8th Annual General Assembly held within the scope of the Global Healthcare Travel Forum and Conference (GHTF2024). The Forum was held with the participation of the delegates of the member countries of the GHTC and Germany, the Saudi Arabia and Moldova competed for the 8th Term Presidency. Moldova winning the election, received the Term Presidency Flag, together with from; TRNC Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu, who served as the Chairman of the High Advisory Board of the Global Healthcare Travel Council in the 2023-24 (April) period, and, the TRNC Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, who served as GHTC 7th Term President of 56 countries on behalf of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in the 2023-24 (April) period

Hosted by the country that chairs the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) every year, the 6th Global Healthcare Travel Forum (GHTF2024), which brought together industry leaders, academics, health and tourism professionals and policy makers, was held this year with the addition of a new conference section, in Northern Cyprus.

The 6th Global Healthcare Travel Forum and Conference (GHTF2024, North Cyprus) was hosted this year by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which chaired the Global Healthcare Travel Council in the 2023-24 (April) period, with the participation of the TRNC President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Tourism Culture Minister of Youth and Environment, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance, GHTC Honorary Founding Chairman, delegates who have chaired and managed the Global Healthcare Travel Council, delegates of the member countries, presidents and managers of authorized associations in the field of health, tourism and education from TRNC and Turkiye, and more than 300 guests from 50 countries.
THEME “INNNOVATION AND COOPERATION INGLOBAL HEALTH TOURISM”…
This year’s theme of the Global Healthcare Travel Forum (GHTF2024, North Cyprus), where the strategies and policies that will shape health tourism globally have been discussed, was “Innovation and Collaboration in Global Health Tourism” with the aim of producing innovative solutions to the challenges experienced in the sector, supporting sustainable development and creating a strong synergy for the future of the sector.
MORE THAN 150 SPEAKERS PARTICIPATED IN GHTF 2024 SESSIONS…
While 25 main speakers attended the forum sessions where the Future of Global Health Tourism, Health and Sustainable Development Goals, Travel for Health, Health Services and Climate Change, Health Services and Technologies, Wellness and Wellbeing, Health Tourism and Advanced Active Life were discussed, throughout the conference sessions, more than 150 articles co-authored by more than 500 researchers were presented, 22 of whom were keynote speakers.
COOPERATION AGREEMENTS WERE SIGNED IN B2B MEETINGS…
B2B meetings were also held within the scope of GHTF2024. At the meetings, managers of organizations providing health and health tourism services from Turkiye and Northern Cyprus came together with health tourism professionals from different parts of the world, especially from GHTC member countries, and signed mutual cooperation agreements.
