The 6th Global Healthcare Travel Forum and Conference, organized by the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) with the participation of 56 countries, will be held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) from April 18 to 20, 2024.
The TRNC, currently holding the presidency of the GHTC, will host the event, contributing to the advancement of international health tourism policies, advocating responsible health tourism, and promoting health tourism as a driving force for economic growth, inclusive development, and environmental sustainability.
The announcement of GHTF 2024 took place during a consultation meeting held in Nicosia with the participation of Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, the President of the GHTC, Emin Çakmak, the Founding President of GHTC, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş, the Chairman of the Scientific Committee, and Prof. Dr. Nedime Serakıncı, the Deputy Secretary-General of GHTC.
According to the statement by Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, the President of GHTC, the 6th edition of the Global Healthcare Travel Forum will feature a new format with the addition of a conference section where scientific articles will be presented. The conference will take place at Limak Cyprus Deluxe Hotel in the TRNC from April 18 to 20, 2024, and it will bring together representatives of healthcare service providers from the TRNC and Turkey, health tourism agencies, hotels, intermediary institutions, as well as representatives from non-governmental organizations and academia from 56 member countries of the Global Healthcare Travel Council.
Dr. Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that during the term of the TRNC’s presidency, they have contributed to the sustainable development of health tourism through various activities, including educational programs, and have supported and hosted numerous events globally.
GHTF 2024 will include sessions discussing topics such as the Future of Global Health Tourism, Health and Sustainable Development Goals, Travel for Health, Health Services and Climate Change, Health Services and Technologies, Wellness and Wellbeing, and Health Tourism and Active Aging.
The conference will feature scientific articles presented during the sessions, and these articles will be published in the Springer series, which is indexed on important platforms such as Web of Science, SCOPUS, Google Scholar.
Dr. Ahmet Savaşan invited all countries, especially GHTC member countries, to participate in the GHTF 2024 in the TRNC, providing an opportunity for global collaboration and the development of new projects in the field of health tourism.
