At the “Path to Positive Tourism with Destination Leaders” panel held at the EMITT Fair, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, the Honorary 7th Term President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) and a TRNC Member of Parliament, emphasized that the TRNC is rapidly emerging in health tourism. Savaşan stated that in the post-pandemic era—where health, safety, and hygiene have become top priorities—the TRNC is swiftly approaching its regional leadership goals in selected fields thanks to its strategic location, over 300 days of sunshine, and developed infrastructure.

Savaşan noted that the TRNC is among the countries that managed the pandemic most effectively, and that its low mortality rate has increased its appeal in health tourism. He also highlighted that, through wellness programs, medical treatment services, digital marketing strategies, and international collaborations, the country’s health tourism potential has become competitive on an international scale.
