GHTC Former Honorary President Savaşan Representing TRNC Spoke at the Opening of HealthTourism Expo-Baku
Participating in the Baku Azerbaijan International Health Tourism Fair, B2B Seminar and Conference (HealthTourism Expo) organized with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) 7th Term President, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan spoke at the opening ceremony of the organization.
Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) 7th Term President, Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan attended the B2B Seminar and Conference together with Secretary General Doğan Yalkı and made the opening speech in Baku, International Health Tourism Fair, which brought together professionals from many countries operating in the field of health tourism, especially from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Russia, Kuwait and Georgia.

In his speech, Savaşan emphasized that although the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has been kept under unfair isolation for years and tried to cut off its ties with the world, it has managed to cooperate with more than a hundred countries of the world, especially Türkiye and Azerbaijan, in tourism, education, health and in many other fields. Pointing out that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, after becoming an observer member of the Organization of Turkish States, had the opportunity to develop its cooperation with the Turkish States through the decisive contributions of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, Ahmet Savaşan said that this opportunity was created by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the President of Azerbaijan, İlham Aliyev.

Stating that Northern Cyprus is making a name for itself in health tourism day by day with its modern medical facilities, special health services offered at high standards, specialist physicians and experienced health workers, Savaşan said that, within the scope of the Health Tourism Fair and Conference held in Baku, mutual cooperation opportunities were found with the participating countries in selected areas, and he expressed his satisfaction for having the opportunity to cooperate with other participant states.

Dr. Savaşan pointed out that Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus chaired the Global Healthcare Travel Council for the period of April 2023-24 and that during this period, they regarded health tourism not only as an economic opportunity but also as a bridge beyond borders that promotes intercultural understanding and peace. Ahmet Savaşan said that, as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, they are working sincerely and with great devotion to be a strong part of this bridge and to contribute to the development of health tourism worldwide. Savaşan emphasized that they will sincerely support the work of Moldova, which assumes the new term presidency of Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), with the same vision and awareness of responsibility, and that they will contribute to the work and studies to be done for the sustainable development of health tourism in the world.
