An investment protocol was signed for the establishment of a new-generation hotel and rehabilitation center in Famagusta, which will directly contribute to the international reputation and development of Northern Cyprus in the field of Health Tourism.
The ceremony of the protocol was held at Vuni Palace Hotel Congress Center and was signed by Romatem Health Group President Dr. Köksal Holoğlu and Oscar Group CEO İbrahim Bağman. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Minister of Health İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra, President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council, Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan and Founding President of the World Health Tourism Council Emin Çakmak, as well as senior executives from the field of tourism and health.
ÜSTEL: OUR GOVERNMENT WILL SHOW SPECIAL EFFORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTH TOURISM…
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel pointed out that health tourism in Northern Cyprus offers unique opportunities in the fields of health protection and development, as well as treatment opportunities, and that the government will make special efforts for the development of Health Tourism during the one-year term when the TRNC will preside over the Global Healthcare Travel Council. Prime Minister Üstel pointing out that Turkey’s respected and reliable brand Romatem Group has decided to make the first health tourism investment in Northern Cyprus with the initiatives and encouragement of President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, and Oscar Group, one of the reliable and powerful organizations of the TRNC, also emphasized that this investment will be a driving force in the development of this field in Northern Cyprus. Prime Minister Üstel stated that he believes this step will be a source of motivation for other health tourism investments from abroad and encourage them to come to the island.
ATAOĞLU: OSCAR AND ROMATEM GROUP WILL BE THE PIONEER OF THE NEW ERA…
Stating that the Ministry of Tourism has been involved in the process and has provided support in many stages since the first day the TRNC became a member of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), Minister Ataoğlu said that the new generation hotel and rehabilitation center of the GHTC, which will be operational under the term presidency of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, will start a new era in health tourism. Stating that his Ministry supports the increase in health tourism investments in Northern Cyprus in this new period and that studies are being carried out for this, Minister Ataoğlu said that the investment to be made by Oscar and Romatem groups will lead this new period.
SAVAŞAN: THE FIRST CONCRETE INVESTMENT OF OUR PRESIDENTIAL TERM HAS BEEN REALIZED
Expressing that the priority of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) during the TRNC Presidency is to contribute to the scientific development of health tourism and to increase the number of member countries by adding value to all members of the Council, in his speech, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan stated that they will make special efforts to develop global cooperation in general, increase health tourism activities and investments in the TRNC, as well as increasing mutual cooperation with member countries in the 2023-24 period. Stating that the exemplary investment of Oscar and Romatem, which are reliable and strong brand groups in their fields, in Famagusta, TRNC, will be the first concrete step in the Presidency of the TRNC, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said that this step will be written in golden letters on the pages of history as the pioneer of many other investments.
HEALTH TOURISM REVENUES AND EMPLOYMENT WILL INCREASE…
At the end of his speech, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said: I would like to heartfeltly thank exemplary businessman Hüseyin Oskar and Köksal Holoğlu, President of Turkey Health Tourism Development Council, for bringing the investment of the new generation hotel and rehabilitation center to our country. I believe that with this investment, health tourism revenues will increase in our country and employment in this field will also increase.”

Council President Köksal Holoğlu stating that Romatem Health Group, which is the first and only physical therapy and rehabilitation chain brand and provides quality health care to its patients with its investments in health tourism, has made significant contributions to the Turkish economy with its stable growth for 20 years, said that the center of “Hotel and Rehabilitation” concept equipped with highly technological robotic systems and a multidisciplinary approach will be put into service together with the Oscar Group in Famagusta in early 2024.

The new generation hotel and rehabilitation center will offer all current treatment options from neurological rehabilitation to sporty rehabilitation, hydrotherapy to ozone treatment to its patients. Köksal Holoğlu said that the world’s most advanced robotic technologies will be put into use at the center and over two thousand health tourists will be hosted in Northern Cyprus from Europe, Middle East and North African countries in 2024.

Dr. Köksal Holoğlu, stating that Turkey Health Tourism Development Council’s is in collaboration with Cyprus Health Tourism Council in order to ensure that Turkey and the TRNC get more shares from the World Health Tourism market, emphasized that one of the most important goals of the Turkey Health Tourism Development Council is to contribute to the increase of the health tourism volume and the revenues of Turkey which has managed to become one of the leading players in the field of health tourism and increases its health tourism revenues day by day.

Oscar Group CEO Ibrahim Bağman in his speech at the protocol ceremony said that Oscar Group has been actively involved in the management of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council and has been actively involved in the development of health tourism in Northern Cyprus, and added that Oscar Group has decided to invest in health tourism and contribute to the development of this area in the TRNC in collaboration with Romatem Health Group which has been successful in Turkey and various countries of the world in the health tourism sector.
